Touch Points Earns Medallion Award from PRSA Richmond

Touch Points received a coveted Medallion award in the Media Relations category of the 2009 Virginia Public Relations Awards sponsored by PRSA Richmond. The award recognized the firm's successful launch of Vivo, a music class designed for children with autism by Da Capo Institute. In addition to traditional media pitching and placement, Touch Points identified and communicated the news about Vivo to a network of more than 60 advocacy groups and agencies that provide counseling to special-needs families of children with autism. During the August-December 2008 timeframe, visits to Da Capo's web site were up 118 percent over the same period in 2007 and absolute unique visitors were up 106 percent. The first Vivo class was one of the largest choirs in Da Capo's fall lineup.

The Medallion award put Touch Points in the running for the Best in Show honor, which was won by the state's largest public relations firm. Da Capo's account was handled by Sara Hunt, Senior Public Relations Manager, and Lisa Atkinson, Public Relations Specialist.
